I have always admired those adults who are ready for Halloween. My husband thought that Halloween was the holiday made just for him. He would dress in black robes. In front of the house was a glowing skull. He would put a microphone in the skull and the fun would begin.
So when the unsuspecting kids would step up to the door. He would yell through the skull “trick or treat.” The kids would be astounded. What? A talking skull?
Usually they would jump back a foot or two. One brave boy would walk right up to the skull. “No,” he’d say “I’m supposed to say trick or treat.”
The skull would say, “I said it first. So what are you going to do? A trick or a treat.”
“Is a joke a trick?” the little boy would ask.
“I might take a joke.”
So the little boy would tell some knock, knock joke. The door would creak open and my hubby would hand him a treat.
After awhile, the kids would laugh at the skull and tell the same knock knock joke.
But, I like Adult Costumes. When I was younger and thinner, I would love to wear this pirate wench costume. Or I know I have talked about how much I like the gypsy costume as a child.
One of my favorite costumes (on someone else and it wasn’t Monica Lewinsky) was a friend showed up with a hatchet in his head. The makeup was so good and so grotesque that the girls at the party were screaming. I had a good laugh.
So what was your best party? or party costume? And, are you ready for this year?
