His Majesty’s Dragon

By Naomi Novik
ISBN: 0-345-48128-3

When the HMS Reliant captures a French frigate and seizes an unhatched dragon egg, Capt. Will Laurence ends his seafaring life and becomes a dragon handler. The British uses dragons for ariel defense against Napoleon. Capt. Laurence has to change his whole view of himself as he trains the dragon Tremeraire.

But, what the Capt. doesn’t know is that Tremeraire is a rare dragon… from China.

The story started slow, but became more and more interesting as the Capt. interfaced with the dragon. I almost didn’t get started with this book. But about two-three chapters into this book, I couldn’t put it down.

I’ll give this book 4 stars.
