Diet Soda & Vasculitis

Vasculitis is a potentially fatal condition characterized by inflammation of the blood vessels. The inflammation results in unhealthy changes to the blood vessel walls, such as narrowing, weakening, thickening and scarring. Vasculitis can be a temporary condition or chronic. In severe cases the inflammation prohibits blood flow, causing tissue and organ damage. A specific diet for vasculitis does not exist, but it is best to avoid diet soda. Ask your doctor for other dietary recommendations.

It says in the rest of this article that Diet Soda can affect the bones, weight, and caffeine usage.
What I say: I have known for a few years that diet soda is very bad for patients with vasculitis because any processed food or drink can cause more inflammation. Since vasculitis disease is all about inflammation then it is a good idea to avoid soda and particularly diet soda. It is interesting that what I have been doing and saying for nine years is starting to be the norm.
